Our Story

The Summer Moon started with the love that two women had for nature and yoga which brought them together as friends. That friendship evolved by intricately weaving together nature and yoga as guides on and off the mat with carefully curated practices, outdoor adventures, and meaningful connections.

Our mission is to nurture vitality and every individual well well-being, to cultivate a conscious, mindful, and loving connection between ourselves, the community, and nature.

Whether a beginner or an advanced practitioner, The Summer Moon strives to create a place to practice Yoga and Meditation in a supportive and accessible environment. We intend to keep the teaching of yoga as close to the way we have been taught as possible and is incumbent for us to always act responsibly and with our client's interest in mind.

We believe in the transformational tools of this practice from the subtlety of quiet meditation to the power of breath with movement. We believe in the structure of nature and the cycles of planets and stars. We believe that all of it is connected and that profound peace exists when you align yourself with the truth of your nature. Through observing the qualities and patterns of the outdoors, we can cultivate our wholeness and contribute to the wholeness of our communities and planet.

In a whirlwind world that rushes by, where we’re perpetually engaged and often distracted, we risk losing our ability to pause, to gaze at the sky, to breathe deeply, and to savor life’s sweetest moments. Now more than ever, we crave sanctuaries that invite us to slow down, to reconnect with ourselves, each other, and the exquisite tapestry of the human experience.

Let The Summer Moon be your sanctuary.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

For thousands of years, humans lived deeply attuned to the rhythms of the earth, measuring time by the movements of the sun, moon, and the changing seasons. Yet, in our modern era, we've drifted away from these natural cycles, leaving us feeling stretched thin, exhausted, and disconnected. By rediscovering our interconnectedness with nature, embracing cyclical living, and integrating earth-based rituals into our lives, we can reignite our intuition and realign with an ancient, innate rhythm. We do this through yoga, ritual, and outdoor adventures. Inspired by the backdrop of Northern California, the mountains, rivers, and streams are our playground, our medicine, and our connection to something bigger.
